Wind doesn't feel strong to the athletes if it's going the same speed as them. Still, the decrease in wind resistance can be significant.

Also, it was pointed out that most people do not run personal bests each marathon. What if we compare to their personal average? Or to compare the +/- time balance this year at Boston to historical +/- time balances to other races (previous Bostons, Chicagos, Londons, etc)?

I suspect the wind did make a big difference, but you're correct that we don't know how big.

I'd be thrilled to see more 2:03's in the future, we'll see :)
