Exactly right.

I've repeatedly been told that I "overpronate," but my chronic injuries disappeared just as soon as I dumped the orthotics and the stability shoes.

There is zero peer-reviewed science behind (1) the diagnosis of "overpronation" and (2) the "cure" of stability shoes and orthotics. Don't believe me - ask your podiatrist or your shoe store.
