Subject: 17 Year Old Oliver Bear Don't Walk Runs 6:07 Pace for 50k to Break US Junior Record

Here's the news we received 17 year old Oliver Bear Don't Walk (that is the kid's name, he is Native American. Great name for a runner) set the 50k junior record by running 6:07 pace for 50k to run 3:10:07. He went through the marathon in 2:39:57.

Oliver Bear Don't Walk a 17 year old soon to be Senior at Nooksack Valley High School in Everson, WA competed in the Pacific Northwest 50k-Track this morning in Bellingham, WA. Oliver ran the 125 lap 50k in 3:10:07 (6:07 pace) breaking the former american junior 50k record of 4:21:09 set in 1984 by Danny Wilcoxson (USATF source). He has been running about 130 miles a week in training for this race and upcoming national championships.

Oliver run's for Joel Pearson and the Harrier Track Club. (He does not compete for his HS)

Oliver placed 14th in the usatf junior 10k in June!
