Body: It was pretty impressive for Andrews to run a 1:45 prelim, but it doesn’t matter because that’s not where you become a legend in the NCAA; you become one standing on the 1st place podium spot after your final. I could see Andrews running at Worlds Jr., but winning it? We’re talking about World Class competition, not just facing Wheating alone or facing other NCAA 800m runners. Pretty sure there’s several juniors the same or better than Wheating and if Andrews can’t put away Wheating every time they face off, I don’t see how Andrews can just walk in World Jr. Champs. thinking “I’m a gold medal favorite.” Is it possible Andrews can medal (silver or bronze)? Maybe, but I don’t know because I need to see what Andrews could be up against to make my prediction. But I will say that I can’t see him winning; it’ll take more than a 1:45 to do it and who knows what type of race it could be. The race could be a sit and kick running a slow time or an all out race running a fast time. If it’s a sit and kick, Andrews would have a better shot.
