Body: I am originally from Virginia, and we ran the 600 yards frequently also. I was the school record holder in the event when I graduated, not that it means much. I always liked it because it was just a little too long for the sprinters and an 800 guy like me could do well. Also, a runner could easily double by running the 600 and something else.
