I must notice that many let's run posters have the tiring slogan that "non US runner/coaches ==> all doped; our beloved US runners ==> go on Gatorade and fries". history shoes that whenever there is a chance to dig really into US sportsmen, the dopers are as many as in other places. On a statistical base there is no evidence that this or that country is "doped": the countries without dopers are only where the checks are lax... Probably at the very top, they are all battling with the same weapons.... Dr Rosa is not only an esteemed coach, but he also set up a gogeous structure to identify and norture talents (at the time also in USA...). So he understood well that you can not take over an athlete at 21 years old and make him a great. The work must start already earlier.[/quote] well gharib started at age 22 and has run under an hour for a half marathon and 2:07:02 for the marathon, along with an olympic silver in the marathon and a couple of world marothon championships golds, i think he will go under 2:06:00 in the london marathon. i dont know what your standards for great are? but to me he has done great based on what he has already done, even if he did not start running until a year AFTER he was over 21.
