If 1.33 works for someone, then they either
a) did not run all out in the 600m TT
-They ran all out but ALONE (see below for the distinction)
b) ran slower then they could have in the TT for some reason (ex weather)
c) gained fitness between the trial and the race, or sharpened up.
-To some extent. While the EFFORT is race-like, it is conducted under normal training context, i.e. no special sharpening/tapers as for races.
d) race above their capacities shown in training for some reason
-You mean like...because it's a COMPETITION? Because maybe the prescence of rivals, accurate time recording and crowd support might ACTUALLY cause someone to dig deeper than running alone on a training track? My god this is a SHOCKING revelation!
