RE: Sub 1:50 800m Training
Why is 1.33 even being discussed? 1.33 means that when they race 800m they go through 600m in the same time as the TT and then run an extra 200m. If the 600m time trial is all out in good conditions, 1.33 is complete garbage and will produce predictions that are way too optimistic.
If 1.33 works for someone, then they either
a) did not run all out in the 600m TT
b) ran slower then they could have in the TT for some reason (ex weather)
c) gained fitness between the trial and the race, or sharpened up.
d) race above their capacities shown in training for some reason
OS4's 1.37-1.43 range sounds about right, with 1.4 working for a surprising amount of runners.
