I don't post very often on this site and this might be my first post in about 4 years but this thread has really bothered me. Before you post something about an amazing coach, get your facts straight. First of all, wisco boy, if you want to be serious here then you would know Wisconsin guys are way more injury plagued than Michigan guys. Right now they have both Eagon and Withrow coming back from injury. Michigan has no injured runners. I’m not trying to call anyone out but the fact with running is runners DO get injured and it’s a fact of being a runner. Second, Ron does coach Willis and DID coach Willis to a bronze medal at this summers Olympics. Ron wouldn't have been at the Games, coaching him all year, through his training camp and at the Games if HE wasn't his coach. Nick's brother Steve stepped up last year to offer Nick support leading up to the Games, also known as Team Willis. When Paul McMullen came to Michigan he had hardly run in the last couple years and wanted to train with Ron and make his comeback. He came here after just running 3:50 for the 1500m and Ron got him back into form, PR'ing to a 3:33 and making the World Champs 1500m final. Every coach has issues to deal with, including injuries. You can never blame an injury on the coach if the athlete red-lines all the time and never takes the recovery days needed. I was one of those athletes in college and always tried to get the most out of my body. Ron knew when to hold me back and push me but it was my responsibility on my recovery days to run easy and if I didn't, that wasn't Ron's fault. He is a great coach and if you don't have anything good to say, then say nothing. Don't come on a board talking shit about a) someone you don't know, or b) something you don't know what you're talking about.
