You are reporting the following post to the moderators for review and possible removal from the forum Poster: Yanqui Subject: RE: Phil Hersch blogs about Marion on Oprah Body: I had the show on but was doing other things and did not give it my undivided attention. But what I did notice was that when Oprah asked if Marion had apologized to her relay teammates, Marion's expression suggested that that notion had never even occurred to her. I remember a few years ago when Marion was at the Millrose Games to run the 60-meter dash - which, given her height and slowish start, was not even an event we expected her to win. She took the lead at about the 59.5-meter mark and did get the victory. I remember being impressed by how completely imperturbable (sic) she was, and how the quite literal crush of the media - in the interview area, there was hardly even room for her - didn't faze her one bit. But of course, to achieve all of that, you have to be extremely self-centered and have an ability to shut out quite a bit of reality. From what I saw today, Marion is adept at both of thsoe things.
