I absolutely agree with you about the tempo pace. I think 6 miles might be a little long for me to be able to do it - the 5k tempo I did two weeks ago or so was more on the order of 5:30-5:40's.

Do you think that the difference between the two paces (6:00 and 5:40, for example) would cause a huge difference in what I get out of the tempos? I could have pressed probably a good deal harder (as the splits can pretty much attest).

Really cool comment from the Kenyan guy. I like that this thread has pretty much been civil from the people who are actually contributing to it.

Nice work with the 800's. That is pretty short rest. I meant to ask you - a while ago you mentioned you'd be racing at Icahn in NYC. Is that going to be the NYC Qualifying Challenge? If so, I'll definitely be there - it'd be pretty silly to race you, but also sweet.

Are you going to start moving into some harder workouts now? It seems like you've been doing a lot of mileage (which is A+) but it does seem like you're going to need a bit more speed/speed-endurance to get the job done. (I'll trade you some of mine for some of your long endurance..how bout it?)
