Two questions. How old are you? and whats your running history? ie have you been running for years or are you building up from ground zero.

If you are, say, in college and ramping up, then the poster that recommended start with your 400/800 time and the 1500 will come is right. Remember Seb Coe "work on your strengths, not your weaknesses...".

If you're an experienced over 25 and decided sub-4 would be cool, - you have no chance. No more age-bonuses for you!
