This is supposed to be a development program, not a means to achieve a lifetime PR. It's a transitional program to go from the college environment to being an established professional. If you're waiting until you hit 30 to move to the marathon then chances are you either have already made your mark (28:00 10k by 27) and don't have any need for a development program or you'll never leave any mark.
Also, you shouldn't need a coach there all the time to wipe your arse, part of being a pro runner is learning to become more self-sufficient than you were in college.
This is a great program, sort of a Hansons Lite, and is a welcome addition to post-collegiate opportunities.
