Henry you must have read me wrong, I was at WSU in the 1990s. I've never been lucky enough to meet you. When I said Chaplin drove "us" to the canyon I meant the WSU team of 1993. We all heard about your canyon runs and when we ran down there and turned around at the ridge, someone pointed down to the Snake River (a few miles away and a long way down a very steep grade) and said "Rono used to go all the way down to the river and back". I was just wondering if that was a myth or if you really did run down there.

Maybe you remember doing similar runs during your years in Pullman. The legend at the campus is that you ran down there all the time.

My high school coach ran against you in college and always used to talk about your incredible performances (he witnessed your steeple record in Seattle). You and Aouita (who was still trying to break your 3k record) were my heroes at the time.

When I was at WSU I was lucky enough to get one of the last Nike posters Chaplin still had with you coming around the turn with your WRs in the corner. It is still hanging in my parents house...

You are a great inspiration and I wish you the best in your comeback.
