I coached college track/xc for many years and was really excited to get Vigil's book. Sadly, I actually had to give up on it. It was so poorly produced, shabbily proofread, and confusingly "organized" that I was able to extract almost nothing useful from it.
That made me very sad. Some coaches whom I really respect had talked about Vigil's brilliance, as well as his ability to present difficult theoretical material in practical, accessible terms. Well, maybe when he's talking with you--not from his book.
