I too was very skeptical of the Boston times and no doubt they were wind aided.
Having said that Geoffrey Mutai followed it up with a 2:05 in New York. Mosop got the course record in Chicago while not 100%.
I don't think it's a stretch to say they are two of the best marathoners in the world and if that is the case a WR is a possibility.
If the weather forecast for winds hold then I would say NO chance for a world record. Otherwise it sounds like the only way he thinks he can make the Olympic team is with a World Record so I assume he'll go for it.
