Only type 2A or B are convertible, but if you do ultra training, you can change the entire makup of your fast twitch fibers, and only to a certain extent. There is so much muscle breakdown involved in ultra training.
But I don't think maurice greene will ever be an elite marathoner, or sammy wanjiru run a 10 second 400 meters, no matter the training.
