|Subject: ||++++++++++ CALF STRAIN HELP! ++++++++++|
Here we go brojos:
February 28th did a tempo run. During it I felt a twinge in my calf. Didn't think much of it, sore the next day. Ran through it until spring break started last Tuesday and then it got progressively worse to the point where my calf just feels really sore/tight/with lots of pressure as well as it starting to affect my upper shin. Stopped running last tuesday with just testing it out this past weekend and a couple days ago for a few miles. Still bad so went to the doctor today, did an x-ray because he wanted to make sure it wasn't a stress fracture. No stress fracture, just a calf strain. I can bike and elliptical with no pain or anything at all which is weird but from what I've read calf strains do that. The doc told me to stretch (straight leg and bent knee against wall) and just let it heal until I go one week without pain or anything while walking around. Is there anything else I can do to help speed up the healing process?
SPARKNOTES: Diagnosed with nagging calf strain, doc says to just stretch calves (straight knee/bent knee) and don't run until one week without pain walking around. What else should I do to help speed up the healing?!
