I have the distinct feeling that you guys are underestimating his physical ability.
Not at all. He's incredibly gifted, and it probably wouldn't take that long of a stretch of injury-free training to approach a semblance of his former self. But I think it's a huge risk if he's trying to bring it around to compete this year. Pretty sure that 10,000, where he re-injured his hamstring and dropped out, was either the Oregon Twilight meet or Pre, where Rupp warmed up but didn't run because the pollen count was at its highest in, of all places, Oregon.
