Taking money from taxpayers and giving it to chevy volt buyers (and other electric car owners) as a massive tax break sounds a little like socialism to me. Sounds like the government is paying people to be "environmentally aware". The sad thing is paying people to buy these cars couldn't even raise their value enough to be bought. And I don't think the OP said anything advocating president Bush's actions. You would have to be completely inept to believe either party is right on every policy/issue.
As a matter of personal opinion I don't think the government has any business using taxpayer money to sway the market in any direction, especially when the product they are paying for is completely useless (a car that only goes 35 miles on a battery charge). I think as citizens of a country and voters we all have rights to our ideas of how things should work. I for one don't agree with the government push for electric cars.
