|Subject: ||RE: loss of coordination in leg|
"Exactly what happens to me. People think I'm a head case when my leg gives out on me during a race. They say something like "Theres no way you could do all that training if your leg is injured." I FEAR my first track race in 20 days. It crapped out on me in my last 3 races in during XC. Like others said, I'm in the best shape of my life but can't prove it"
This statement right here sums up my ENTIRE last year of running before I figured out what was wrong with my leg. I knew I was in great shape because when my leg would randomly hold up for a workout, I would run amazing. However, I was training for the marathon and this rarely happened since most workouts were too long for it not to sh*t the bed on me halfway through. I can totally sympathize with feeling paranoid about your next race. The worst part is that it doesn't even hurt...it's as if the muscles just stop working properly. Then when you stop running there is no one particular symptom or pain that is easy to describe to a trainer.
Ian, do you have any other symptoms besides the random loss of motor control in your leg? And if so, do you experience them when you are not running (i.e. sitting, walking, standing, laying down, etc).
