Rewatched the 400m race where he set the WR and saw me went from lane 9 to 8. Was that legal not finishing in the lane he started even though he was ahead of anyone?
Also why move to another lane? May have cost himself sub 43.

OP, you are full of sh!t. He did no such thing, just re-watched the race.
You're full of it. What lane did he start??? What lane did he finish. Get over yourself!!

it might be worth noting that:
1. the track has only 8 lanes at the start, so WVN cannot have started in lane 9. his draw number was 8, he started in lane 8.
2. the track has 9 lanes in the finishing straight. if you look at just before the start of the race, at around 2:19 in the video, there is an overhead shot with an official in a blue top standing in the runoff at the end of lane 9. also, if you count lanes at the finish of the race you can easily see that WVN is in lane 8, the lane he started in, but it is no longer the outside lane as there are now 9 lanes in the finishing straight.
cheers.

You are wrong. He started in lane 12 and finished in lane 14, so actually ran more meters. But still good observation from you. Wondering why nobody has seen this before? He would have run sub 42 when running the whole race in his lane.
Rojo- please dig into this with a video like the abu dhabi 'thon and also possibly call the NYT to investigate the fake news!
Had he really switched lanes, Mekhissi and the French team would file a request to disqualify him.
