Don't do PEDs or you could end up on the patriots
To me, the biggest, and really only argument against allowing doping in sports is that it creates a scenario where one either has to put his or her health at risk or not compete on the same level as other participants. All sorts of performance enhancers are allowed, like protein and exercise and good sleep. Those things are allowed because they don't pose health risks to competitors. If Dianabol was as safe as protein, it should be allowed. But the vast majority of banned PEDs either come with known risks or there is insufficient data on their risks.
The argument against this view is probably that all sorts of permitted things in elite sports are unhealthy. Riding your bike for 25 hours per week and a high level raises one's risk for a-fib. Getting as light as many endurance athletes do is also probably bad for one's health.
