This is so far out of his wheelhouse that I think it is a great question,
can he muscle his way to a sub 40 min 10k based on pure natural athleticism?

He' reportedly a 4:55 miler, so he has the talent, but he'd have to cut weight down to 255 to break 40 mins
He is an incredible athlete and will be the #1 selection in the draft, no question.

It is actually a dumb question but I will answer it. I would guess he could not run 6+ miles without stopping today if asked. If he trained for 3 months, maybe he could run sub 43 minutes (7 min. pace)

^^^ This, hundred times over... You guys are nuts if you think he can run sub-40 min 10K with his weight... LOL

Sub 40?! LOL, no way.
I bet he goes sub-2 in the 800, though. In fact, here are all of the times I'd give him.
100 - 11.2
200 - 22.3
400 - 51.2
800 - 1:57
1500 - 5:10
3000 - 13:00
5000 - 21:30
10000 - 48:30
marathon - 5:05

Yeah I'm gonna call BS on that until I see sources
I'd give him at least 30:30. I'm a D1 runner and I'm 100% positive that he is more athletic than me. On a good day with a big field I could see him sticking in the back of the pack and going 29:49 if he ate his Wheaties that morning.
I doubt he has any interest in running a 10k.
No way Zion could break 2 just off of athleticism
