The guy is crazy good. Michael Jordan was great and Wilt Chamberlain was great. LeBron James WAS great and now he is a has-been acting petulantly. Would you say that Zion is already the greatest basketball player ever?

yes
Sire Charles said he'd be an average player in the NBA
According to ESPN, yes.
He will have problems in the NBA though at 6'6". Also at one time in HS he was about 320lbs. Now he is 285. Sometime in his mid 20s he will balloon up to 350 lbs. and be ineffective.
No. This is a stupid question.
Off the top of my head collegiately, Hayes, Alcindor, Walton, and Olajuwon were better. Many others like Sampson and Maravich at the same general level. Zion certainly has huge potential to become a great pro but once EVERY opponent is on or near the same level development to adjust is a big hit or miss. Even more so than talent or potential.
I saw a number of great players in person in the late 70's/early 80's. The most dominant college player I have seen is Magic Johnson. At his best, he was very difficult to guard, and without reservation, could play any position on the floor. Haven't seen anything like him since at the college level.

Hell No
The greatest basketball player ever was Scott Howard.
Joel Embiid.
I predict that he is not a franchise player at the next level. At 280lbs, I think he will have weight issues at the next level. Needs to go to the league now, get paid before it all ends.
And I agree, if I was building at team.....JOEL EMBID is something special and unique.

I don't disagree. At the college level, opponents had to do so many things to neutralize Bird and Magic and other similar guys that their average teammates looked like world beaters. I tried to throw out a couple names not everyone would think of right away to put Zion in perspective which is very good, but currently far from the level of greatest ever, even at the college level.
Zion is almost certainly the greatest athlete at his age in basketball ever. 275-85 with a 44in vertical is like video game numbers. He has great game sense and vision.
You don't need to be 6'10 if you can jump 4 feet:

He could become an all time great if he can stay healthy and keep developing. Great player to watch. Seems like a genuinely humble and appreciative guy, and you can tell how much fun he has on the court. That kind of enthusiasm is infectious.

Yeah right. Please provide link, source, photo or some evidence of when he was 320 ponds.
Did not ever happen.
Good luck to your Tar Heels in the tournament.
