Stinsonit!

Stinsoning races is the only true way to run a race. Anything less is being a pansy. You go for the win, and either set a huge PB and/or win, or crash and burn. Again, anything less than a Stinson, is being a pansy.

It’s like the Japanese in the recent Tokyo marathon.

If you never Stinson, you don’t really know your limit.

All of our 2:12 - 2:15 time trial guys will never break through to something special unless the DO put it all out there and ‘Stinson’ it.

Maybe 1 out of 10 times the stars will align and we’ll see a 2:09 or faster.

Until then, nobody gives a ratsass about a 2:12 or slower time.

He could have beat Ward and that pack if he ran a smarter race. He was literally sprinting and fighting for position throughout the entire first 5K. Just pure wasted energy...

In the 80s this was a common tactic, especially in marathoning. You'd get people going through halfway in a PB or a minute or two off their PB.. then hanging on for dear life.

Jonesy went through half in 61 mins when he ran 2:07 - a British and almost world record .

Ian Thompson went through *10k* in almost a PB on the way to a 2:09

NO, it wasn't common. You just name 2 people. Congrats.

In Frank Shorter autobiography, he said the one year he did do Boston. He went through half way in 1:04. Due to injury faded badly. And Bill I think won that year in 2:11.

1:04 at Boston is like a 1:05-6 in Berlin. Not fast at all for Frank at the time.

Pre #Stinsoned it before Stinson was around! Webb perfected it.

At least Parker is out there pushing himself! He works hard, shows up, and races the way that he wants to race. When he turns “Stinsonit” into a Olympic trip, I won’t be shocked!

I believe the correct term for past tense is "Stinsoned", so OP should've said "Stinsoned it".

Present/pre tense is, 'Stinson' or 'Stinsoning'. Example: "My race plan today is to just Stinson it." Or, "He is Stinsoning this race. Look at his first 5k split vs his last 5k split.

He races to see who has the most guts!

He's got the physical tools, he's just psychologically limited.

Yup.

He was mentioned multiple more times than those in the chase pack as well.

Kids going for it and getting more recognition than those who don’t. When he hits, he’ll be sitting pretty. For now, name recognition is making him money.

I’m racing this Saturday. Training has been going well so I’m going to Stinson it. I’m going for broke.
