I am trying to become an elite athlete in xc skiing, but I am not one of the best. My Vo2 max is below most other skiiers. And running is much less competetive in my country so I am wondering how much I can shave of my running time with focusing only on that.
My scheedule up until now consist mostly of 12-15 hours of skiing and 7-9 hours of running in 4 runs of about one workout in 1 hour, one easy run in 1 hour, one 2 hour run and the rest in a long run. My marathon first and only timed run over 3k is a 2:47 I did during holiday abroad. I didnt plan to race before two days before race. So should I try to change to running or just stick with skiing or end all sport?
