It's a Diamond League meet but it's named after a 5K runner. Who is a more appropriate namesake going forward?

Komen 3000 turbocharged rocket fueled rally
Great question. Why don't you contact Ato Bolden and Seb Coe with this question?
No........
Pre was a drunk driver, a criminal.
Meet should’ve never been named after this irresponsible idiot.
Asics Metaride Classic
I agree. The name should be more modern. I would go with the "Prefontaine Clash!!"
In our current climate, Prefontaine has not aged well. Drinking and driving was a slap on the wrist from 1920's to 1970's. There are a lot of men from the 1970's who have not aged well. Prefontaine is one of them.
There were so many vehicular homicides not properly investigated, covered up and not properly charged prior to 1980. Let's properly investigate that fatal auto crash with former First Lady Laura Bush. There is no statue of limitation on manslaughter with vehicular homicide.
Name it for Ashton Eaton

Prefontaine has not aged a day since May 30, 1975.

I'm multi tasking.
Do you want the former First Lady investigated?
They should call it the Postfontaine Classic
Is there another American 4th-placed Olympic finalist it can be named after?
In honor of the meet being at Stanford, I would have to go with the all time greatest runner to ever don the red and gray.
The Regina Jacobs Clear Diamond Invitational
Maybe each DL meet should be named after a member of the IAAF Council of Sooper-Geniuses who are saving our sport.

I was going to say the same thing. The other thing I was going to do was ask what would prevent the Prefontaine Meet, or any other DL meet for that matter, from adding an "exhibition" 5,000 or 10,000 or both? Say the official starting time for a DL meet was 7:30PM or that the last event was to be done by 9:30 PM. Is there some sort of rule that would forbid the organizers from Having a "separate" 5,000 that started at 6:45 PM (to accommodate both men and women) or from having a similar 10,000 that started at 9:40 PM?
