Troll? That's far to little info to make this determination. If you're 75 yrs old, that's dam good. If you're 25, it's not too good. Not to mention a thousand other factors.

i ran a 2:32 marathon and then took 20 months off because i was burned out. Zero running.
Recently I ran 17:54 after running 4 miles (at uptempo pace) once a week for 3 weeks.

Faster than 95% of all humans over the distance. But you’re young, male and at a good weight so with those characteristics and advantages I wouldn’t expect less. You’re about where you should be, you definitely aren’t unhealthy or a slob but the time itself when comparing it in an athletic setting is mediocre. It’s even on the slow side for a female at your age who is semi serious about running. Relatively fast times in my opinion, at your age, would be sub 18 for males and sub 22 for females.
Hate to tell you, but that's pretty bad, bro. My soccer team all ran a 5K and almost all of us were under 23 minutes. And it's a 14 and under team.

For reference 23:00 5k pace is:
* marathon pace for a runner with 20:00 5k ability
* an easy pace for a runner with 17:00 5k ability
* a recovery pace for a runner with 15:00 5k ability
* jogging/shuffling pace for a world class level athlete
So yeah, it's basically 5K race pace for most of runners here on LRC
Fixed
Fixed properly.
OP, you need to state your age otherwise it's meaningless. Also, any other relevant details, like if you're one of a pair of Siamese twins, or if you're currently chained to a radiator in Iraq and running in tiny circles.

20 years old. Ran track 2 years ago. Ran the 800 and only the 800. PR was 2:09. Have gained 30 pounds since then. Only time I have ran the past 2 years is when I have an Air Force PT test, which is a mile and a half. I usually run it 11 flat. Just ran a 5k to see how fast I am, because I want to run at the college level.

The -5k is the hardest to run. 0k is easy but once you go negative it can take forever.
It's pretty good if you've just started running, here's me
6'4" 155-160lb male
25 minute 5K in 2014
15 minute 5K in 2018

This post is meaningless without your friggin AGE !!!
Also, you must be scary to look at :-(
Simlar for me:
Male, 105ft tall, 13lbs
This morning: did my first 5K in 1yr, 4mos, 18days, 3hrs, 48mins, 23.72secs
1 hour ago: did 9,000th 5K race in 14.2secs
Bad enough you shouldn't be logging on to this site without a VPN.
Ran a 23:04 5k two weeks ago and was disgusted with myself. 67 yo.

I don’t understand your type. Surely at age 65+ you know that is a good time and you’re very lucky to be racing it.

It is not good overall, but for the circumstances, it is not impressive, but definitely not too shabby. I don't know what your goals are as you don't say, but let's say you are under 30 and want to train hard to see how fast you could get it, if you lost about 20 pounds, got up to a consistent 50 miles per week for a year or two, I am positive you would run under 18 minutes!
Good job and way to get out there

Here's the good news.
You can go for an hour run and not be too far from your house.
Why do you care about the time. Anything above 15 minutes is an enthusiastic jogger pace.
Just feel good about getting out there and not raising a sweat.
And your shoes will last longer
I would say pretty poor if you weigh only 170lbs. I just did a 23 min 5k weighing 210lbs!
lol at the posts telling him to bump up his mileage to 40 mpw.
Plenty of people I've seen running 16-18 off 15-20 mpw.
