Well, is he?!

Fat, and done? Yes.
Bumpily bump because I wanna know if any1 has new information on Galen at this point in time? Haven't heard how his recovery is going.
Bump. Someone’s gotta know something. Been 5 months since the operation. How long is the recovery? Anyone had the same operation?

I'm not sure Rupp & co even told us what the exact surgery was, I only heard it was "Achilles surgery." Big difference in terms of the recovery between removing a bit of damaged Achilles and removing a calcified section and then reattaching.
I'm scheduled this summer to have the latter, I'm not stoked. My doctor said 6 months to running again, but my friend who had it said a full year.
Sorry to hear that. What exactly causes this? I keep hearing runners having issues with their Achilles.
I saw Fattie the other day in Albertsons in the pastry aisle.
It all depends on what kind of glue the NOP can afford. I bet there's great glue available for the right price. Rupp's achilles could have been sliced right in half, but made good as new in months with the right glue. So I'm hopeful.

I ran through many minor bouts of Achilles tendonitis over the years of training. I thought I had gotten away with it. I didn't realize that if you do that, you risk the tendon not healing properly and blastocysts (bone healing cells) trying to fix the damaged tendon at the heel. Then you've got hardened tendon, which irritates the tendon and para tendon around it, so it becomes increasingly irritated. I didnt notice anything until after I had decided to quit competing and switched to just occasional hobby jogging. It's been 3 years now of increasing pain, to where now any running just isnt possible. My surgeon said walking will follow suit, getting more painful over the next years, so I might as well fix it now.
Is there a rule against attaching a helium balloon to yourself while running a road race?
Am I living in the twilight zone? The Boston Marathon weather was terrible!
How rare is it to run a sub 5 minute mile AND bench press 225?
Move over Mark Coogan, Rojo and John Kellogg share their 3 favorite mile workouts
Mark Coogan says that if you could only do 3 workouts as a 1500m runner you should do these
