Highly decorated track athletes Andraya Yearwood of Cromwell High School and Terry Miller of Bloomfield High School have been selected co-recipients of the 2019 Bob Casey Courage Award by the Connecticut Sports Writers' Alliance.

The girls have brought national attention in support of all high school athletes' right to respect and inclusion, including an appearance on ABC's Good Morning America.
Miller and Yearwood will be honored at the 78th Gold Key Dinner on Sunday, April 28, 2019 at 3 p.m. at the Aqua Turf Club in Southington. Gold Key Award recipients for 2019 are former college and pro basketball standouts John Bagley and Chris Smith, longtime NFL coach and Super Bowl champion Chris Palmer, St. Thomas More basketball coach Jere Quinn and ESPN founder Bill Rasmussen.

I wonder what the next crazy fad will be once the newness wears off.

It’s a shame these poor kids seeking attention are used as pawns by the SJW crazies. And a shame for the girls who have to compete against biological males.

One of the main things we are seeing today, is how so many phoney LBG ppl are failing to stand with Trans. Sunny day Allys? Here is an example. You can just sense the hate brewing.

In August of 2017, our seventh grade daughter came home from sleepaway camp believing she was a boy. She had a new vocabulary and a strong desire to change her name and pronouns. We never anticipated that we needed to ask the camp if she was going to be in a cabin with girls who were socially transitioning to live as boys.
We suspect that our daughter assumed that since my wife and I are lesbians, and liberal in our politics, we would support this new identity. We may be lesbians, but we are not confused about biology. She tried to convince us with a very scripted explanation that she had always “felt” like a boy. But we had never once seen or heard from her any evidence of this “feeling.” We listened to her, gave her the space to talk about her feelings, and tried hard not to convey to her that we were utterly horrified by this revelation.

Thoughts on what could happen :

- disbanding girls sports. Will just be age based - no boys / girls, just kids - then open above 18. I see that this avenue as unlikely

- adding rules for genetic testing. Just like tests for unnatural performance enhancing drugs. This will likely happen, but be initiated by a lawsuit of a xx girl vs an xy boy competing as a girl. Boys cheating as girls will be looked at as east German girls swimming is now. Babashoff was then a whiner. She's now been vindicated. That took freaking decades.

- title IX advocates will work to beef up the rules to define what girl means. I can guarantee that title IX folks are meeting to discuss when, not if, to initiate this action. As to do otherwise risks mocking all they fought for.

It will take years for any real change to occur. Until then, these boys crushing girls will continue, expanding to all events, starting in individual sports and going from there.

I'm not sure the order, but see:

- the rest of the track events. Nxn anyone?

-tennis

- weight lifting

- crew

- swimming - tho that'll be interesting to consider the women's suits, for those boys who've not gone all in.

My sense is that team sport adoption will take longer. Coaches get to pick who's on a team. That said, there may be a pro trans Dean Smith who recruits a trans bball "girls" team and who finally crushes uconn each year. Would be fun to watch a game for the novelty. Specially with smaller girls basketballs.
