I've seen various articles from time to time touting the benefits of doing some decline work on the treadmill. TBH I don't fully understand what the benefits might be, nor if I should do them, but it's late winter and I'm a bit bored so I've been thinking of trying it out just for the hell of it...but I thought before doing this I might ask here and get some info.
Can anyone share experiences with integrating decline training, good, bad, or otherwise? Is it worth spending some time on? I was thinking of doing maybe 3 miles here and there at -3%, or something like that.
Also, my treadmill does not have a decline function, so I'd have to prop up the back end. It's a folding model, over a decade old. I don't care about violating the warranty at this point, but I also don't feel like buying a new treadmill just yet as mine is perfectly functional. Should I decide to play with this, is there any chance of damaging something other than myself?
