Yeah, I could find a bike forum somewhere, but I trust you fine folks of letsrun.
I used to be a hobby cyclist, but running has taken over for the last 10 years or so, but looking to get back into it. Looking to buy a new bike - probably an "endurance" style bike with some relaxed geometry. Will be replacing a 10-15yr old Madone with a 105/Ultegra mix. Will modern 105 (with disc brakes) feel like a big upgrade over that? Is it worth springing for Ultegra? Never ridden Di2, should I consider it, or is the ~$1500 over 105 a complete waste?
Pure hobby cycling - no plans on racing, just 2-3 hour rides on the weekends and the occasional century or two a year. Perhaps a 70.3 or 140.6 in the future as I believe I'm legally required to do as a mid 40s upper middle-class white dude but that would be a one-time thing and not interested in a tri/aero bike - comfort is more important.
