Nepotism?
The plane needs to be looked at, two major incidents within 5 months. Ground that POS!

You are more likely to be stroke by lighting or to beat Bekele in a race than being in a plane crash. Look how many accidents are on the roads. Should we ground all cars next
This is like making up ghosts or religion to explain something that you don't understand vs having the means to evaluate and understand the situation thus preventing it

No, not nepotism. It’s about tade and $$$$. Boeing is one of the US’s biggest exporters. We don’t make much here that is then sold for lots of $$$$$. One of the few things that we do make and sell overseas is planes. And, as we know, to the GOP based on many of their economic policies, $$$$$$$ >>>>>>>>> actual human life. If a few people die or we make the planet uninhabitable who cares as long as we make lots of $$$$....or so goes many GOP economic / policy arguments.

No one has suggested we ground all planes, but rather one specific model that has been out less than two years and where 0.6% of delivered planes have now crashed and burned. I have a flight coming up in two weeks and if a max 8 is assigned, I'll be driving to Florida instead of flying!
The plane crashed and before any kind of investigation could be launch the type of plane was being blamed.
Very suspicious.
US or Israel involved and being covered up?

By 2018, fatal accidents per million flights was 0.39. The 737 Max 8 was first delivered in May 2017 and since then 350 aircraft have been delivered. For simplicity let’s assume All 350 aircraft have been in operation for a year and each does four flights a day. That makes a total of 511,000 flights. The 737 Max 8 has had two fatal crashes, that makes the accident rate 3.91, or over ten times the industry norm.
It should also be noted that the overall statistic is primarily influenced by aged aircraft. If the rate for aircraft under two years old was calculated it would be much lower than 0.39.
Agree, the numbers look bad. Realistically, if US pilots don’t crash them, it will be rationalized that we have better pilots. Only $$$ matters unfortunately.

In summary:
Repubs - BAD
Dems - GOOD
You - angry and stupid moran
False. There are several other airlines/countries that have not grounded it.
I'm baffled at how people think this is political when deciding whether or not it's good to stop flying the plane. The plane has had two crashes in a few months in similar situations. Soon after takeoff and suddenly losing elevation very quickly, regaining control, then dropping again.
They think it's because the nose is pulling down on its own because of false sensor readings of the plane about to stall out. Seems very logical. The plane has a problem that happens more times than should be allowed.
There is a way to shut this off while it's happening but the two pilots that crashed apparently did not know how to do this.
Either more training needs done or the plane needs grounded. Probably grounded, and then have that feature removed, then the plane should be good to go again.

Not really. Tires are a pretty good insulator.

+1 -i would gladly hop on one tomorrow-maybe there will be good discounts...a lot safer than driving or running on streets...
Maybe AOC is onto something.
Hi speed rail here we come
After 9/11 I think the world went almost 8 years without a jet crashing. That is amazing.

Political enough for the president of the USA to ground the POS Boeings.
Wall Street Journal reports that the government shutdown delayed FAA allowing the Boeing software fix for five additional weeks.
Planes shouldn't be able to fly. Soon all planes will be crashing. That will be a return to normal. Only birds can fly.
