Can someone please explain to me how Florida won the NCAA meet without any distance competitors.
Wisconsin was heavily favored to win but ended in 4th.
I always thought you needed a well rounded team to win.

Heavily favored by whom? Flotrack?
could some one tell mouse, he can't win without distance.
1. Sprints/Hurdles
2. Jumps
3. Throws
4. Distance.
Usually 3 out of the 4 are needed to win a national title. Arkansas’ women won without throws, Florida’s men won without distance.
Grant
I think Holloway did it the same way he did his other 8 National Championships without distance runners.

Wisconsin would have needed a near perfect meet and likely would have killed their 2 distance studs AND then need some of the other teams to have terrible meets. They just didn't have a high potential of points, and then didn't really run all that well.
Anyone who gave an unbiased look at the scoring potentials Florida had would have ranked them much higher. FloTrack who underplayed them going into sooo many championships HATES Florida. For years they have ignored them and only do segments on them them because they pretty much have to with Grant running so well.
FloTrack followers and fan base are primarily distance running based and so they would much rather see a distance powerhouse win and downplay teams that don't fit that bill unless its something shocking like NDSU. Florida's team is well rounded, Jumpers, Throwers, Sprinters etc. Yes they are light on distance athletes but have some good young talent and not too long ago had some excellent middle distance athletes. Most teams that do win are light on one of the areas of Sprints, Jumps, Throws, or Distance. You wouldn't be making this claim if a team won without a jumper. Its just more noticeable because people on here like distance running.
The University of Florida has had ONE distance runner qualify to NCAA indoors in the past 25 years.

Florida women have had numerous qualifiers in distance events.
The Florida women’s team doesn’t impact the scoring of the men’s team. NAU men have won 3 XC titles. Those guys don’t get to give some points to the women nor do Florida women distance runners contribute to the men’s score.
Is there a rule against attaching a helium balloon to yourself while running a road race?
Am I living in the twilight zone? The Boston Marathon weather was terrible!
How rare is it to run a sub 5 minute mile AND bench press 225?
Move over Mark Coogan, Rojo and John Kellogg share their 3 favorite mile workouts
Mark Coogan says that if you could only do 3 workouts as a 1500m runner you should do these
Red Bull (who sponsors Mondo) calls Mondo the pole vaulting Usain Bolt. Is that a fair comparison?
