Beamish closed in 53.58 where the race was on pace for about 4:18. He is probably worth a 3:53, beating a 3:54 guy in third, and he already ran 3:41 two years ago (=3:58-59). He was closing 11 seconds faster than he was averaging. That should tell you the pace was very, very easy for him, and probably 5 seconds faster than he could hold for a mile. His mile pr right now means nothing.
