And they really can’t go 5 minutes without 3 minutes of commercials???? And these 2 milers are really that dumb?? Or just racing for 2nd and 3rd from the gun?

TBF 8:25 is a great time and Drew could have won the fast heat anyway but it's disappointing that they didn't even try and essentially raced for 2nd
No one cares. How about Drew Hunter coming through?!?!
This boy has returned from injury, and is on the path to a good year! Congrats Drew!
Also, track nerds need to stop saying elite women are "hot" when they're actually just fast, but many are very average looking. Some are attractive, but many that guys on here rave about would not be receiving looks at bars in major cities.
Drew Hunter rocks...he wouldn't be giving them attention. Neither should you.
With all that being said though, Hunter deserves some props. Runs 8'25 from the front, by himself for most of the race. Surely he's fit enough for something in the low 7'40s for 3k right now.
McGorty ran 4:17 pace for a 5k two weeks ago but could barely muster that for two miles tonight? What the hell was that
Pretty appalling tactics from the A final of the men's 2-mile. Was anyone in that race trying to win? Why did it take a whole mile for the runners to realize they were WAY behind pace?
Love the B heat! A heat guys should be embarrassed, A heat women's mile had to work hard the last 200 to avoid the same fate. More B heats!
Brojos, please interview everyone in that race and reach out to their coaches as to what the strategy was for running a 4:24 fist mile
Now I feel vindicated for suggesting to Jon Gault on Twitter that Colleen Quigley should just go ahead and run the 2 mile from the slow heat, since she didn't have a qualifier. Drew Hunter proved my point! He's in good shape and had nothing to lose by seeing how fast he could go solo. It's only natural that the fast heat would go somewhat tactical. Quigley should pay attention and try to beat Houlihan twice!! if Jerry will let her! (I really think there is or is gonna be drama on that women's BTC team.)
This meet is a joke. No wonder some pros said “thanks, but no thanks”
300s, 600s, huge M3k field. Tiny M Mile field.
Can’t wait for the 5k at BU. At least that will be a race between Chez and the Army guys.
Athletes/coaches in 2nd section have no excuse. When there's a "slow" section, you NEED to know the time to beat, and you need to have a plan if the pace is too slow early on. Did any of these guys have any idea what was going on?

Houlihan let her have it
Houlihan totally let Colleen have [win] that one. Colleen’s fast but not Shelby fast

Did Craig Masback seriously just suggest Drew Hunter CHOSE to run the slow heat? Oh god and now Johnson actually asked him if it was his strategy. Clueless.
You ralize that J. Gault asked the same stupid question on twitter. and he supposably covers the sport.

Well it was only a matter of time with that many women being in such close proximity. To be honest it's surprising that they've all seemed to get along so well for so long.

Hunter 8:25.29 2 mile with 4:17, 4:08 splits. Probably not enough to seriously affect the top heat, but not bad at all.
Meet record was my first clue that pace for the "better" section would be something to watch.
When you break the standing meet record it's a rare day that you don;t leave with a pay check.
Stats nerd alert ----when is the last time someone broke any MR at Nats and failed to medal?
Houlahan to NOP.......... coming soon.
Supposedly,
You idiot.
Drew won partially because of Karma. He donated generously to Kemoy Campbell's fund...today God rewarded him with $6,000 in return!
God Bless you Drew! You make the sport better.
Also, Jonathan, will you and the staff do an article debating whether yall feel that yall are ALWAYS right about how athletes should never forego the NCAA? Yall seem extremely short isighted in yall's view toward athletes foregoing the NCAA when sometimes it is in their better interest.
I believe Drew sticking with Tom, and also taking what is rumored to be a ten year, 5 million contract with his education paid for was DEFINITELY the better move. I know that my father would have advised me to go the Adidas route on that one at 18/19 years old.

Come on now. All those guys think they can just throw down a 3:58 last mile or 50 flat last 400 if needed!!
What happened to Yorks? Why the DNF?
Even Hunter negative splitted a good deal (4:18 1618/4:07 1600). Probably what happened was that no one wanted to be the rabbit for everyone else, because then they'd get dropped at the end.
