Samuel Tefera, Not Yomif Kejelcha, Gets Indoor 1500 WR - 3:31.04!!!

I could see a reaction in Kejelcha's hand when Tefera passer him. Almost like he wanted to pull his shorts.

Last 400 just looked like a 400 rep in a workout.

About time the IAAF clamp down as thoroughly on Ethiopian athletes as they have on Kenyans in recent years. Their work is far from done.

Think I’ve pretty much nailed this one, except for I didn’t see Tefera sneaking by. Fair to wonder if Tefera will build off this outdoors and take on the likes of Manangoi and Timmy. He stunk last year outdoors. Kejelcha is a monster and that mile record is his if he goes after it. I think Tommy might run 3:27/3:45-6outdoors now if Alberto has Kejelcha lead out Monaco Oslo , or Pre

What a great battle. It remind me of the El G outdoor WR in the mile in the sense that he had Ngeny on his ass the whole way. The only diference is here the guy in 2nd in ended up taking the lead and winning.

Posts like this are stupid and borderline deletable. You offer no rationale for the thought. Plus it makes little sense. Kejelcha trains with Salazar so presumably if he was EPO, he could tell Rupp where to get it.

Look, anyone could be dirty, but if I was dirty, I'd certainly stay away from the US and Salazar as there is a lot of OOC testing in the US and the authorities are focused on Salazar. Now I know Kejelchas didn't get the WR , Tefera did, and I'm not confident in the Ethiopian testing.

Plu a BIG time talent does need EPO to run 3:31. 3:31 was first run in 1980 LONG BEFORE EPO was invented.

I think a bunch of thyroid meds could be useful in helping one be "on" all the time but one doesn't need EPO to run 3:31.

Yes rojo thank you. I don't agree with often but all the people who think NOP are on EPO are idiots. NOP are an improvement in anti doping. They are dirty but not EPO dirty.

I realize it isn't one of their own but can the British crowd provide a bit of enthusiasm for a WR. Looked and sounded like they were clapping for a par putt on the 10th hole of the 2nd round.

That was pretty bad. Wasnt even breathing through his mouth. Totally relaxed. Zero stress or strain. Straight into a jog with no hard breathing AT ALL. I mean, at least pretend like it was difficult. Something really needs to be done.

Even I felt disappointed while it was the best indoor 1500 of all-time. Having the underdog outkick the favorite and set a world record, is the best combination of things to happen. I think it was disappointing due to the announcers and the crowd not really reacting at the appropriate level of excitement.

Looking at the way Tefera’s right foot plants was like he had a dislocated hip. Imagine if there was more straight-line forward propulsion! Trying to fix it would likely make him worse but makes me feel better about my outward splay in comparison!

I wonder do these folks fee joy to run so fast?

Who was the 2nd pacer? I thought he did good work.
