I'm a lifeline Dem but the loony left is utterly exhausting.

Then you need to step up and make sure they don't swamp the primaries.
Same with the loonie right wingers. Drive them off

The "loonie right" want responsible government where you work hard and are rewarded. The Loonie left wants to reward those unwilling to work with the money they you earned. Pretty scary the loonie left.

Damn straight. I work hard for my government benefits.

What, exactly, is "looney" about not wanting to provide gratuitous tax incentives to giant corporations? These things have been studied TO DEATH. They rarely achieve the promised job creation/investment results (and there are far more cost effective ways of creating jobs regardless), they frequently put state and local governments in financial binds, they are blatantly unfair, and they distort the tax code. I could create a bunch of new jobs, too, if the government forked over a bunch of money.
Democrats lose again

All excellent points!
Why was the supposed NY tax incentive 3 times the Va incentive package? 550m vs 1.5b
Maybe it was a sh!tty deal for the tax payers? Regardless of which brand of looney is involved.
Just ask Wizco taxpayers if they think the Foxconn deal is worth a sh!t.

I hate the pay to play nonsense, but can anyone actually prove that the HQ2 deal was a net negative for NYC and NYS? The governor's study seems to suggest otherwise.

This right here x 1000
I guess it all depends on what you consider "loonie".

How ignorant can you be? Go back to the line that handed you out your brain and ask for a new one. Your far left rhetoric is embarrassingly pathetic.

I think it's easy to look at Seattle and SF and see what this number of high paying jobs do to the cost of living and housing in particular.
In general it seems that there is little accountability in tracking what net improvements these type of deals bring.
I live a county away in VA from the HQ2 location and was happy we lost. Development is way ahead of schools, roads and other services already.
NYC = DNS
When you DNS you have no chance of winning

On the other hand, you could just as easily point out lack of planning and proper legislation from SF, Seattle, and Portland in regards to handling the high cost of housing and homelessness issues. Instead, they want the businesses that moved there to clean up the city's mess for it.
This is not an example of the "loony left" winning an d NYC has not gone home devastated. People in the Long Island City neighborhood did not want this.

you have no idea what the people want - all you hear is the loudest people, and the activist left is the loudest thing we got.
the sqeaky wheel gets the oil, and the anti-corporation left just got a oiled.
I'd guess that the vast majority of NYers wanted the project, or didn't care one way or the other. I'd guess only a few thousand very loud people didn't want it.

This is a great triumph for AOC (2020?). This shows how much powerful we are, together.
