Matt wasn't full healthy this fall, and cross times are misleading when you're talking about a NY runner (States and NXN Regionals barely went under 16:00, and there were 4 NY boys in the top 30 at NXN). 8:56 in a 3200 as well as an 8:31 indoor 3k are as good as anything Culpepper did in cross. And I'm sorry, 51 speed is not that impressive when you're comparing to a guy that came through in 53 and still had another 27 left in him. 1:20 is easily worth sub-50 on an indoor track, probably 48.xx on an outdoor track. I'm not tryna diss Culpepper; he's got great range and he's a great runner, but if you think he's got better range that Payamps you're sorely mistaken.
