I have has peroneal tendinitis for about 7 weeks. At first I just continued jogging on it doing 1 tempo run a week. When it didn’t get better for 3 weeks went to specialist for foot and ankel and he diagnosed me. He said I could run on flat surfaces no ups downs and minimal turns. When asking him if I can do fast intervals he re iterated as long as it’s on flat surface. I asked him about aqua jogging and he said probably stay away from rocking of the ankle. He seemed like he was in a rush and I showed him with my hands the motion you make with your feet underwater so not sure if he really knew what I was talking about. Didn’t have a Physical Theraoy appointment for a week and did speedwork and a lot of jogging and YouTube strength of exercises. Defiantly irritated it and PT said yes you can run on flat surfaces but cut your runs in half and if it hurts stop. She said yes you can aqua jogging. And for weightlifting she said yes to quad workouts or hamstring that doesn’t do a aquating motion. So kind of got mixed messages. Swimming seems to be the best for it but been not jogging for a week then jogging like 35 miles a week with swimming. Was just wondering what people’s experience was that worked for them. How was weightlifting if any? Could you aqua jogg regularly while recovering? Could you jogg on flat surfaces for half of your base and long runs and that worked? What treatments worked best? Thanks
