Yesterday morning, I was out for an early morning solo run on a dimly lit trail by a lake. The sun was just barely starting to raise and it was frosty. I slipped on a patch of ice and almost bit it. From the lake shore, I heard a very creepy and sinister sounding "laugh." Obviously, it could have been a mating duck or other creature. However, the noise sounded as if it was mocking me. It really sounded almost super natural.
A lot of Native American myths and other urban legends surround this particular area (popular drinking spot for high school and college students).
I'm sure it was some type of creature doing it's thing down there and it was all a coincidence, but man was it a creepy experience. Definitely not running down there without a headlamp again.
