Stone: Nice week. Interesting to see how you balance the 5k and HM-oriented elements. Side note: I’ve always found it kind of hard to run genuinely random fartleks – they always seem to settle into one fairly regular pattern or another.
GT: It doesn’t take a lot of hills to be enough if you’re doing them hard. Look forward to seeing you work on the slo-style stuff.
Coach Jeff: Congratulations on the 100. You seem to be doing very well on the endurance side of things. As others have said, make sure you get in the recovery required. (I would think seriously about cutting back on your planned mileage for the week, for example. Even if you feel good now.)
Smoove: Good to hear the no surgery news.
Pappy: Keeping at it. Do you have access to a pool where you work out? I’ve had some success using shallow-water (like waist-deep) pool-running when coming back from injury (and actually from a knee injury, as I recall). Might be one more thing to add to the mix.
LancRunner: Nice work keeping at it through the travel, etc.
TDR: Not much of a traveler myself, either. Hope you’re feeling more yourself.
HHH: Good to see you back at it. I know I’ve said this before, but those cross-country races sound like a blast.
Sub 6: Another really strong week for you. What you said about doing the same workouts but with less strain/better recovery seems like a very positive sign.
jotquill: Holy hundred and twenty, Batman! As with Coach Jeff, make sure you’re getting good recovery. (Stepping the mileage up and down seems like it has been an effective strategy for you.
JCPP: About the 600s: speedy stuff can be challenging in the winter. Try to get the right kind of effort in and the times will eventually follow.
RunninReed: Getting in some good work in the snow (running and shoveling). We’re getting some of that winter weather right now.
OR: 88 is a nice round number. Another good, hard race in tough conditions.
pewow: I think I ran (and as it happens, won) that hundred furlong race when I was in Madison. Look out for the hills if it’s the same course.
PutoMiudo: Nice work moving up in that cross-country race.
darkwave: A lot of good work in that week.
Coyote Montane: Yeah, I would take that workout, too, especially at altitude.
DB: That’s a big jump on the CV pace, especially in challenging conditions.
VF: I hear what you’re saying about those 100s on the track. Definitely had that feeling.
Puddles: Awful strong week for being sick.
BHV: Very solid week. Hang in there with the travel coming up.
Urban D: Getting some good winter strength work in. The speed will come.
JtA: Happy to hear you’ve found something that’s helping on the PF front. Have you ever looked into Australian-style “complex” training at all? From what I’ve seen of your training, I think there are some elements of it that might be a good fit for you.
jewbacca: Or is that Yuki-bacca?
SI: Building up momentum again.
Bruin: Sorry to hear about the tweaked hamstring. That’s one injury that I haven’t had, but hopefully somebody else will have some good suggestions for you. Take care of yourself.
Jeremy R: Still running and pretty fast, too.
IINF: Welcome to the thread.
cocoon: Nice work on the 20. For running in the cold, a pair of socks on the hands can be helpful in a pinch.
ET: Welcome to the thread.
RRR: Congrats on the comeback 8k. Impressive consistency with the pacing. Showing both smarts and toughness there.
old dog: Smart to take a day if you needed it. Nice job bouncing back the rest of the week.
