Poor Kejelcha. Looks like el g’s record will last a little while longer
Have they always given out a .7x scale Stanley Cup to the Wanamaker Mile winner?
Rojo wrong as always - said it was in the bag - had the record easy - conversion charts yada yada yada

Absolutely ridiculous. Not stopping that meet until he was taken care was inhumane. Too concerned about NBC ratings. I hope if he's not 100% those who made the decisions are held accountable.
Can't believe everyone on here is so nonchalant about Kemoy maybe having died. Very tragic.
this is LRC, we take our cue from the owners.....if it had been Grant Fisher then there would be 300 threads already.....otherwise it's just a footnote.

I think they had another meet lined up if he didn't get it here.
i think the workout 48 hours before costed him that .02 he needed lol
Koko is lean but she’s got some serious wheels!

LRC should take their cue from Nike and show some proper respect for a competitor that possibly died on the track today.
Fantastic effort from Kejelcha. Not sure if anyone noticed, but also a very impressive showing from Wisconsin's Oliver Hoare. 3:54-low in February is nothing to sneeze at, and he's only a junior as well. Also ran a 7:48 winning 3k a couple weeks ago.
That pacer was awful. Couldn't even get to 800 on pace... I think they gotta use Clayton or Donovan on the next attempt.
That was exciting
Going a bit wide on the final turn and not diving to the finish. Great run though! When Kejelcha moves to road roaming he’s gonna be tough.
The posters complaining that there aren't enough posts about the medical incident/possible death, need to grow up and take responsibility, and post the posts that will assuage their guilt, instead of whining that other people won't post them for them.
Thank you for the link legend!

Salazar talked on that video about how it was worth it to do anything to get that extra few fractions of a second. Well, by holding that hard a workout two days prior to the meet, he got that extra fraction added on to his time. Still, this was a great run. His pacer was not even able to stay ahead to 800m, so he had to take it early, go around him to get the lead presumably (my feed was just a still image about every twenty to thirty seconds during the race), and go more than half a mile by himself in the lead. Well, Kejelcha and Klosterhalfen, plus Farah before (add Saruni and Emmanuel at UTEP), are certainly showing that American training and facilities are worth it. Why doesn't it work for Americans? Even at low altitude a lot of the time, Kejelcha's killing it right now. He's clearly on track to become a sub 3:30 1500m guy like Farah became with Salazar.
At least Flotrack had an article on it

I couldn't see if other athletes were doing the same as well -- anybody know?
Best of luck to Kemoy Campbell! That is awful. He was a very good college runner and he hadn't been running well recently. Maybe unrelated, maybe not.
