It's a big meet and you need to take USA's top 7 to world XC for high school. Who you got?
I would be taking Ritz, Verzbicas, Derrick, Virgin, Clinger, Goucher, and brodey hasty.

I realize you are trolling, but.
Reina and Lindgren are missing.

Hasty and Clinger over Lindgren?

I'm not trolling but I should definitely replace Clinger with Lindgren. I stand by my Brodey Hasty pick 100% though.

lindgren over clinger, sorry.
My team of 7: ritz, verzbicas, derrick, virgin, lindgren, goucher, hasty
Ritz, Verzbikas, Cheserek, Solinsky, Lindgren, Virgin, Reina.

Was Virgin any good in HS? I am aware he was a beast in College and beyond.
Never mind, Jist looked it up. I am a little thrown off because Vigil always seemed surprised that he did so well right away in college when he lectured about him.

He broke steve prefontaine's outdoor 2 mile national record by lowering it to 8:40
still has the Illinois XC state record to this day, running 13:50 at detweiler. evan jager, chris derrick, lukas verzbicas, and countless others have not been able to touch it.

Yep, read my 2nd post. I realize how stupid the first post was. The only reason I thought that was hearing Vigil talk about him when he was the new kid on the team saying he was going to win the Rocky Mountain Shoot Out and then being surprised he did as a newcomer.

no worries mate. craig virgin is what I would call AN AMERICAN HERO
Ritz, XC goat. Solinsky, also goes without saying. Hunter, 14:20 XC 5k. Goucher, also goes without saying. Cheserek, 2-time Foot Locker champion, 14:51 as a junior to beat Futsum. Rupp, lost Foot Locker on an off-day but 13:37 on the track. Lindgren, XC beast and 13:44 on the track.
Way too modern of a list.
No particular order besides Ritz being #1.
I'll take Ritz all day everyday. Ritz, Hulst, Virgin, Lindgren, Kimball, Pre, and either McChesney or Torres. Torres making FL all four years is ridiculous, but there are probably guys that were better as true seniors.
Others that come to mind are Solinsky, Verz, Eric Reynolds, Derrick.

Virgin also finished 10th at the AAU championships his senior year.
I would also include Rudy Chapa who went on to run 28:32 the next Spring.

Can't believe Fisher isn't mentioned yet. 2x foot locker champion, undefeated in last 2 years XC competition plus 3:59 mile speed. He's def better than Hasty, clinger, and derrick were in HS.
Forgot to put my top 7:
Virgin, Lindgren, Goucher, Ritz, Verzbicas, Fisher, Hunter.
Definitely better than Derrick? Definitely? No.

For sure - Ritz, Virgin, Lindgren, Verzbicas
Possibilities - Reina, Davis, Goucher, Torres, Fout (gotta give the dude some love; he beat Derrick, German, Puskedra handily)
