Looks like someone pulled out of world XC. Has to be one of the Bowerman Girls. 9th placer at USA XC Anne-Marie Blaney of Hanson’s Brooks put on instagram she’s going to Worlds.

I don't consider myself the biggest fan of running, but I've seriously never heard of A-MB. Went to UCF.

Don't 6 go?
Molly Huddle never intended to go (that goes to 7th) then 2 more would have had to pull out.
But here we go- a team that could have won becomes a B team.
I get it- the pros make their living at this- unless they can be compensated for the time/races missed there's no reason to go.
You were told on another thread that Alphine and Molly both said that they were not running World Cross. YOU IGNORED THE RESPONSE.
You were also told that Shelby was having 2nd thoughts and was planning to pull out. YOU IGNORED THAT AS WELL.

LOL- Sorry to offend you, I forgot! I really DO have a lot going on and I can't always go back to threads I comment on.
Maybe you don't understand but it gets busy when you have a life outside the bedroom in your mother's house.
I knew about Shelby. I didn't know anything was set in stone except Molly.
I'm off to my job now (I have 120 students I'm responsible for) but today I have to go to a workshop because we're transitioning to every student having a lap top in my school, then PT right after school.
Enjoy your life dude.
This Blaney chick has never beaten anybody.
Except
Pagano 15:11 5000
Tabb 1:10 HM
Kellyn Taylor 2:24 marathoner
Shannon Rowbury
Laura Thweatt
All were behind her in Tally at the qualifier. Maybe we should give her just a little credit. It not like she beat one good runner. She beat several.
She is the Brogan Austin in the race. She had no high placing at NCAA XC but appears to still be making progress.
As running fans on this board, we are always disappointed when we get our hopes up only to have them let down. As true distance fans on this board, we anxiously wait for the day we can dethrone the East Africans. With a complete Bowerman Girls team, it looked like it was possible. You throw Molly Huddle in the mix and yes the USA brings home a medal maybe even beating an East African team. In realality though, probably no country ever sends their best team. Someone very good from every country at Worlds will be missing. I would have loved to see Chelimo(sp) running worlds but... It's just like the upcoming spring marathons. Normally one of the U.S. marathoners that is expected to do well backs out for some reason (normally an injury). I'm sure it will happen again this spring. So when you watch the Worlds at the end of March, watch it for the beauty of it. And don't keep saying only if we had so and so running, since every country will be missing some of their greatest runners.
It would have been like Brogan Austin running what he did at a WMM. Blaney beat a crap ton of top Americans.
Even the Bowerman girls were not at full strength at USA's last week. Frerichs (injured), Quigley (Millrose).
Infeld not Frerichs.
Rowbury & Thweatt are on a farewell tour, they just don't know it yet.
I'll remember you post when Rowbury will make her 4th olympic team next year.
The world's course doesn't suit any of the runners we are sending anyways. We are sending a track team when we really need to be sending our best mountain team. Should have had nationals on a hillier course.
She was a 1st team All American indoors over the 5k and 2nd team all American outdoors over 10k. She has some credentials. This is also only her 2nd year as a pro. I’ve followed her since college and the thing with her is she’s steadily improved every year and based on the names she beat at USA’s she’s obviously in very good shape. She was ahead of Bruce and Frerichs at 9k in that race.
Typical Hansons future star. A good college runner but not great that works hard and becomes great. Never heard of Brian Sell or Desi Davila coming out of college either.
She also beat Jessica Tonn who has PB’s of 15:18 5K, 31:54 10K. And Rachel Schneider who has a 5k PB of 15:15. She deserves her spot on the team. She’ll run a smart race at Worlds. She always judges her effort well.
According to a poster from this thread, she was an NCAA champ.

Not as usually defined and understood. She did win the South Regional XC title her senior year. Then finished 45th at the actual NCAA Champs.
Best track finishes at champs were an 8th place in the 5000m indoor as a senior in '17 and 14th in the 10000m outdoor as a junior.
I did include her in my posted list of eighteen female "top entrants" for the XC Trials based on her sub-33 at Payton Jordan in spring '18. She and Elaina Tabb were the last two on the list and both did well: ninth and eleventh places.

Is that trolling? Winning a race doesn't make you an "NCAA champ." It makes you a regional champ.
