Ran 1:39 flat at Cbus half this past fall on 35 mpw max. Should I stack up to 55 during my 8-12 week cycle? Ran 10-11 mi. long runs fairly easily during my training. Some hills, no speedwork.
1:45 in fall 2017 (very hot, no experience and 25 mpw).
1:39 in fall 2018 (not bad, not great)
Goal 1:30 for spring 2019 (?) at Flying Pig or Cap City.
Ran in HS, then took time off, then started back a few years ago.
When I ran my 1:39 I wasn't out of breath at the end--I recovered fast. I probably could have pushed it and gotten 1:37 if I really tried.
Long-term goal: Boston, 3:10 or bust. I'm 35 so as I age the brackets become favorable. But that's more a 2021-2022 goal. Maybe do my first 'thon in fall 2019.
