I am going on a backpacking/hiking trip and will be outdoors for about four days, would you recommend a water filter or a water purifier for this occasion? I am looking for the most comfortable and most convenient option for drinking clean water.

You can try the Sawyer Squeeze Water Filter System. It’s a 1 x 16 ounce soft bottle with a plastic syringe for cleaning, hydration system adapter, and a straw. You can drink directly from the Sawyer Squeeze but most people squeeze untreated water through it from a soft bottle to a clean container. The filter uses a hollow-fiber membrane filter that removes 99.99999% of all bacteria, such as salmonella, cholera and E.coli and removes 99.9999% of all protozoa, such as giardia and Cryptosporidium. The filter itself weighs 3 ounces. https://iwaterpurification.com/best-filtered-water-bottle/
Where exactly will you be backpacking ? I’ve done my fair share of trekking and never carried iodine tabs or a filter. If I ever feel unsure about water, I just boil it. There shouldn’t be any problems if it’s water from a small mountain stream, where there are no grazing animals or fenced-off areas. I’ve been extremely lucky though. Friends of mine have used iodine tabs and have been fine.
Sawyer squeeze is the go-to filter for 99.99999% of backpackers right now, maybe more. The guy who said they drink without filtering is quite naieve. The Sawyer is so small and cheap it is considered essential gear at thus point.
One recommendation: get the full size Sawyer, not the mini. The full size is only an ounce bigger but the flow rate is waaaay better and it doesn't clog as quickly. The mini is cute, but I'm a full size guy at this point. It's definitely worth it.
Hi,
I would recommend portable water filter bottles while traveling, They are an excellent addition to your backpack ensuring you only drink clean and pure water while on the go.
I want to buy a filter. I think that it's better, because I can purify water faster. And water in my water supply system have a disgusting taste. One of my friends here said that I should buy a whole filter system for water. Even told me where to find it. He says that https://purewaterguide.net/ company can sell it to me. I visited their site, I have read a review and it interested me. Now I want to buy it, but I don't have enough money for it. I had a few problems before and now my savings are gone.
Thanks for sharing
In the world, we need the best water softener salt because we did not live without water. Water is very dirty and salty which causes this water very harmful for our body. so I need salt which causes it to cleans the water and provides soft water. Here link https://www.watersoftenernow.com/
I would advocate moveable filter bottles whereas traveling, they're a wonderful addition to your backpack guaranteeing you merely drink clean and pure water whereas on the go.

I also were looking for a good filter for a lot of time, there is very "hard" water. We have a baby, and of course we didn't want to give her this water. water softener San Diego is a really good solution. This system has very high level of cleaning water and it is totally safe even for babies. What is well, we have ordered everything on their website and in some days a plumber from their firm has installed everything for free.I think that it is very important to be sure in guarantee of products. These filters are probably the best on the market, here is more info : www.superiorwater.com
The question is still relevant, so if someone has any thoughts on what is better, please share!

I love the Gravity Works filter system. Not cheap but well worth the money if you go backpacking.

another vote for the regular sawyer squeeze.. Attach it to smart water bottle.. fill bottle in stream.. attach sawyer.. drink from same bottle... works great.
