He has huge potential, but needs to improve his endurance to make through the rounds at world's and the Olympics. I would be very interested in seeing a muscle biopsy of him.

I defended Donavan Brazier here on letsrun when he negotiated a XC exemption at Texas A&M. I defended him here on letsrun when Brazier was 18 years old for his preference for low mileage. He can still be a low mileage 800m man and go on some 10 mile runs.

He took a year off. He's relatively young and heals fast right now. I'm sure they've built him up slowly considering how long he was out. He's obviously got a lot of ridiculous natural talent and what might crazy for some is a walk in the park for him.

Anyone know what post-workout Murphy did? And Brazier was supposed to do?

Both Murphy and Brazier have Achilles issues. I hope both are holding back a bit. I hope both Murphy and Brazier are focused on earning medals at 2019 W.C. in 6 1/2 months.

WCs are end of Sept. so 8 months away.

You would probably do much better to avoid thinking along those lines.

I know an 800 runner who ran 1:46 last year on 30 mpw.
