I've been running long distance around 18 months now (used to be a 100/200 sprinter) so am aerobically underdeveloped. Averaged 15mpw for my HM, then 20/30 during November and December.
Is my easy pace too slow? I run mostly between 8:30 - 10 min mile on my easy days, keeping in the right HR zone (140-160)
However, my PRs indicate I should be running WAY faster for easy pace, but my times are improving. Just wondering why my easy pace isn't going down but my race times are, and if they're benefitting me aerobically.
5k: 18:50 (August 18) 18:30 (December 18) 16:55 (Jan 19)
10k: 38 (December 18)
HM: 1:28 (Oct 18)
During the couple of weeks before I ran 16:55, my HR was like 150/160 whilst running 9 min miles... 3 and a half minutes slower than race pace...
